Bank Vole at Christmas

Last week i decided the Bank vole feeder needed a bit of Christmas cheer !! so using one of the ribbon bows off a present i put a bit of christmas decoration on the ” Vole hole ” they seemed to appreciate it as now two turn up regularly for some sunflower seeds , we’ll be taking the decoration down New years day to avoid bad luck !

Stonechat and Caterpillar

While out enjoying the cold sunny weather in the last few days , i was watching this Stonechat deciding how to tackle a hairy caterpillar, it kept picking it up and then dropping it , eventually flying off with it to eat it . with the cold weather making life difficult – every edible morsel counts.

I phone Camera

Sometimes when i’m out i think ” why didn’t i bring the camera ” not really considering the Phone in my pocket ! Regarding it as ” not a proper camera ! so as an experiment i tried it out on Sunday. these are straight off the Phone.
